.-In April of 2011, we removed two cars from a ravine at the request of Prince George's County. We provided this service at no expense to the taxpayer. See photos here.
-In 2010, Sun Services purchased a property in the Beltsville Industrial Park that had been used as an illegal dump site for a number of years. Sun Services cleaned 1400 tons of illegally dumped trash at their own expense. The site is now clean and rented to a trucking company. See pics here.
-Sun Services was a major sponsor of the Anacostia Watershed Society Earth Day Cleanup in 2009, providing dumpsters and disposing of tires, including payment of disposal fees. After the cleanup, at the request of a local environmental group, Sun Services used special equipment to remove a 6' diameter loader tire out of Indian Creek. Sun Services paid all tire disposal fees.
-Sun Services sponsored the 2011 Anacostia Watershed Society's Earth Day Cleanup on April 9, 2011.
-New construction recycling facility will keep hundreds of tons of debris out of the waste stream every day. It will incorporate 100% Storm Water Management, including cisterns, pervious pavement, and rain gardens. There will also be cameras to help crack down on illegal dumping, which has been an ongoing problem in Prince George's County.
